What We Do And Where We Came From

Star Sales is a leading East Coast distributor of fasteners, tools and construction supplies. Founded in 1922, Star Sales was originally a neighborhood hardware store, in downtown Boston, on Washington Street. Our founder, Harry Star, put an emphasis on quality and service that is the foundation of our business today.

In 1977, his son George acquired the business and in 1978 moved it to our current location, in Woburn, MA, in a 55,000 sq. ft. facility, which serves as our Corporate Headquarter. Located at the major highway exchanges of Interstates 95 and 93, Star Sales was able to provide its neighborhood level of service to all New England customers with a broader choice of commercial tool, fasteners & accessory products.

It was during this time that George developed strong relationships with factories in Asia and began importing construction fasteners. Star Sales quickly became a dominant player in the East Coast market. George passed away in 1993 and, over 100 years after its founding, Senior Management has continued to successfully grow the business on a national level. Today, with an additional branch location in Beltsville, MD & a sales office in Charlotte, NC, that serves professional contractors in the Mid-Atlantic region, management has continued on the expansion of his original vision.
